Three Dots & a Dash

This classic tropical drink comes from the legendary Don the Beachcomber. The traditional garnish is three cherries and a long chunk of pineapple on a skewer, representing the Morse code for “victory” and paying homage to Don’s time spent in the service during World War II. There’s a reason these classic tiki drinks have hung around so long—and it’s worth giving this one a try.

THREE DOTS & A DASH

1 oz AGED RUM

1 oz DEMERARA RUM

1/2 oz ORANGE CURACAO

1/2 oz FALERNUM

1/4 oz ALLSPICE DRAM

1 oz FRESH LIME JUICE

1/2 oz HONEY SYRUP

3 dash AROMATIC BITTERS

Shake ingredients with 1/2 cup of crushed ice until the shaker gets frosty. Pour into a tiki mug or collins glass and top with more crushed ice. Garnish with a pineapple chunk and three brandied cherries. Toss in a lime shell, too. Why not?
